I'll be going on a trip to Italy and was thinking of bringing my R10, however I am now thinking of going smaller yet. I thought I may be better off with the Canon G5X Mii or the Sony RX100Vii. I'm leaning towards the G5X Mii. It would definitely be more convenient than carrying around the R10 with the 18-150 kit lens. I know the R10 is still a small package however it just may be easier to have something I can put in a jacket pocket. Any thoughts appreciated.

That said, many of the church and museum interiors, etc., are low light and neither tripods nor flash are usually allowed. I would suggest deciding well before your trip if you can to get the opportunity to do testing in similar venues to confirm your choices.

The G5Xii is not that bad indoors. I am always surprised. Most of the times I take pictures outside. I don' t take many pictures inside museum or churches. But for that case I also have the inexpensive RF16mm. If inside is more important, you will indeed need better equipment.
