The same problem of consistent back focus is there with my sigma 30mm 1.4 EX DC HSM, both on my 80D in live view and on my new R7.

I even tried several lens samples from eBay. They all show the same back focus.

Have you tried shooting with the lens at f/1.4? Because I think this is one of the lenses that has a significant focus shift on stopping down.

Thanks for your ideas!

I only did it wide open because that is what I want this lens for. And wide open there is already that backfocus.

Does that lens have any strong chromatic aberrations? What about spherical aberrations? Do you use a protective filter - previously it was a well known problem that certain lenses don't do too well regarding PDAF when a protective filter is used (ok, that was with the DSLR PDAF, for example with my 70-200 f/2.8L but ever since that became clear to me I removed all protective filters from my kit)...
