Football: R7 or R6mkII as replacement for 7Dmk2

Hi,

I am currently shooting football games of my sons with a 7D mark II with EF70-200f2.8 (younger son, half of the playground) or Tamron 100-400mm (older son, full football playground). Football is 99,9% of my pictures.

However, I don't like the poor 7DmkII higher ISO output, when it gets a bit darker or cloudy. I don't shoot too much indoors. I prefer to simply stick behind opponent's goal and shoot from there, "our" guys running against me. I like that with the crop sensor and 100-400 I can cover the complete field.

And this is where my dilemma starts. I am considering R7 with a RF100-500mm. Additional 100mm would help me to have a detailed view including our goalie (well, both my sons are goalies) using the crop 500mmx1.6. However, the idea of full frame and brilliant high ISO output and dynamic range makes me look at R6mkII (well, had a look at R8, a great price for a full frame, but I see a couple of disadvantages there).

What do you guys think? Is R7 a way to go? The high ISO output shout be much better than 7dmkII and the extra reach is still there. Or is 6DmkII THE solution for me? Or... well... should I save a bit more for R5?

Thanks for any views.

PS: Under "Football" I mean soccer in US!
