Why not split the difference and get an R6 Mk I? IMO it makes no sense to pay $1500+ for a camera without IBIS in 2023, unless it's a specialzed camera like a GH5 or some kind of collector's item.

if you were familiar with the Canon RF system, you'd know most of the lenses have IS

also, top reviewers disagree with you

Lol, I had an EOS R for 2 years. So I'm speaking from experience when I say IS is no substitute for IBIS, which is a concern of OP.

I believe the reviewer, Dustin abbot has stated he really doesn't see much of a difference of using both Camera and Lens stabilization or just only one or the other.

It depends on a lot of factors. With my 85mm f/2.0 IS stm I did notice a difference between using it on the R (no IBIS, lower MP count) and using it on the R5 (adds IBIS, higher MP-count).

But that's the 85mm focal length, and that focal length is a factor. The amount of shake in the photographers hands is a factor. But it's not just shake. It's also if you create a rolling or pitching movement or not when pressing the shutter button. At some point a very experienced photographer maybe isn't the best person to test the IBIS feature. My wife is a better person to challenge those stabilizing systems.

Dustin Abbott also makes mistakes when it comes to stabilization. He stated the lack of ILIS of the Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-2.8 wasn't a problem because of IBIS. That's certainly not true, as IBIS can never stabilize like ILIS does in the 100-150mm range.

Some have stated that for certain case usages, Lens stabilization is better than in camera. Both my ILC cameras have IBIS. But I have never tested if for myself.
