Years and years ago no cameras had ibis or anything like it. Nothing on the lenses either. Go back in time and look at the fantastic sharp picture. 1940s to 1990.

No AF or high FPS either! And they had to mess around with film. Yuck! The worthies of old were pretty good.

But now the OP is trying to decide if he should spend an extra $1000 for IBIS. Should he upgrade his 6D Mk II to an R6 Mk ii or an R8?

Well, since he isn't used to IBIS he won't miss it. I don't think he should blow $1000 just for IBIS. I would say get another RF lens.

Unless, of course, he would consider an R7. It costs the same as an R8, has IBIS, and has more resolution. He could still buy the extra lens! Of course, its sensor covers less square area than the R8's sensor.

Fair enough.  Though, I think he should get the best camera his budget will allow.  It's not like the R6mkII is a rip off at it's price.  Worth it if he has the budget for it and lenses.  The R8 is nice if that is the budget.
