How important is size to you? And small light (and excellent) lenses? F/1.4 lenses? UWA zoom?

I don't find these rumors far fetched considering Canon just made an EF-M 55-200 "killer". I do consider it a killer too btw considering it's improved optical performance, even though it gave up 1/3 stop.
I would never buy a camera based on loose rumors. "Coming alongside the R50" ? No, It didn't. And not even a "cr" rating on these rumors. My advice is wait, wait, wait and wait before you buy a APS-C R mount camera. It can take a long looong time before it has got something close to the EF-M lens line up. IF ever !
RF-S: Slower lenses. Larger lenses. Fewer lenses. No F/1.4 lenses. No Sigma trio.
The RF-S 55-210mm is slower, heavier and much larger and does not fit nicely in a pocket as the EF-M 55-200 does.
Canon started the RF mount claiming FF dominance
now APSC cameras are showing up as an afterthought.
the R6II and R8 will rule the roost.
I own the R6II.
you finally bit the larger FF bullet
For a project. I might keep it or just sell it when finished.
ok, got it
It is a great camera and I am sure the R8 will also be.
R8 form factor smaller

Canon EOS R6 Mark II

Canon EOS R8

But they are both large and expensive (and it gets even worse when you include a lens) in comparison to an M camera.
but it gets expensive also when you are an enthusiast (like those that frequent these forums) and you start buying a bag full of primes because they don't ive you a bright zoom
As you already know. You get far with just the 11-22mm and 32mm. 😀
yep, got it,
but I also go far with the RF 24-105 F4L and will even go farther with the -6.5 EV R8
and then you've spent all that money and finally do what you did, buy FF
Nah. My R6II (or any other FF camera) can not replace my M cameras when hiking and walking around.
mine gets shared duty with my small FF
They belong to a completely different category. And I think it is rather off topic to start discussing FF cameras in this forum.
the category you are referring to is newbie camera, 1 kit lens
Huh ?????
enthusiasts want more than a kit lens, and by the time they buy everything, the FF would have given them the zooms they grave
these forums aren't filled with newbies
Huh ?????
except for maybe R7 with long lenses, skip buying anymore APSC
That is also a much too large camera for people who really love the small size of the M cameras and lenses.
but the overall size is more when they don't give us a bright zoom for m and then folks are carrying a bag full of primes, where the size and even cost of my R8 ($1499) + RF 24-105 F4 ($899) will be less !!!
When did you last carry a bag full of primes? I have never done that.
but for the last 17 years in biz, I have to carry complete systems, and my m system is adjunct, not a complete system
