that being said, it also depends whether you are a single camera shooter or not. If you are, it’s worth paying up a little bit to get what you really want, if you are not, it usually makes sense to buy what makes sense now, and add complimentary features down the line when you buy another body. Maybe pick up a used r5 when the r5ii or r1 comes out?

For a while, I set up the venerable 5D classic with the original 100-400L with a custom setting for action. It was what I had and it worked well for those infrequent times I shoot action. The 6D with the other lenses is what I generally use.

Looking ahead, the 6D will be a keeper as a backup but whatever camera body I get next will be the primary camera.
