In my opinion, "doing it right" with a camera that can save DNG files includes using DNG.

I have an input profile, made with the Color Checker, for Quattro DNG files and Adobe Camera Raw. I don't have to use the green/magenta slider as such, but often set white balance by clicking on something grey in the picture, which might for instance be a grey patch on the Color Checker or some asphalt on a road in the scene.

In my opinion, SPP is a tiresome program to use.
