I am considering to purchase a R model soon as I am presently using a DSLR model 5D2 for video work. I have a nice variety of Canon EF L series lenses which I like to adapt to the R. Would AF and IS work just as good on the R with appropriate adapter and also is there any R model that allows the shutter release button that would allow pause-record on video mode. I find it would be much more comfortable to pause video this way other than pressing that tiny red one that always introduces camera shake on the very last second of a clip that must be edited out.
The EF lenses work the same on the R with it's Canon EF to R adapter as a DSLR. The R uses the same lens interface language as the 5DmkIV DSLR. Actually, the lenses work better since the R is always focusing directly on the sensor.
I don't remember pause record options but I never tried to set it up that way.
