I will most likely not move to RF(S), I'd rather check out Sony 6xxxx series (with IBIS!) which is supposed to be updated this year, since I'd have to buy new lenses anyway when moving away from M-system.

A camera is a tool and no religion! So I will just move on and forget about Canon.... 🤷

Exactly. RF-S is EF-S again for me, and I wasn’t particularly impressed by that system either.

The M mount was / is unique as Canon was still dabbling in the mirrorless world, and they didn’t want to alienate its DSLR customers. They stuck to some of their principles (like no weather sealed lenses), but they also needed some good reasons to make the mount more attractive. So they made the M6 which feels like a pro body, and not the plasticky stuff they usually do in their entry or mid level range cameras. They also added fast lenses which usually were only available when you bought their L lenses. Now that they have enough experience and already gained traction with mirrorless bodies, they are trying to maximize profit margins and they do some heavy upselling again.

I’ll happily use my M stuff until the body dies. When I won’t be able to get a replacement body for a sane price, I will ditch the system, and just use my other APS-C cameras. Until then I just enjoy shooting with the camera. Maybe I will die earlier than the body, I don’t worry.
