Such a compact system with compact lenses - Now being replaced by bulkier RF cameras and bigger RF-S lenses.
I own the R5 and many bigger EF/RF lenses, but my M6 II has always been a joy to carry out for casual photography and videography.
I hope Canon could could produce something as compact and capable as the M system in their RF APS-C lineup, but I'm doubtful due to the physical limitations of the mount size.
The latest R50 is of similar size to the M50. The only thing lacking now is some RF-S prime lenses.
And something the size of the M100 or the original M.
😃
And a small excellent UWA zoom.
And something like a M6 (II).
That would be the R7 if you can't do without an EVF. And don't mind it being practically the size of the R.
R7. Ugh. LOL. No it can't replace my small M bodies.
😄 I can't remember the last time I used the clip-on EVF on my M6II. I usually have it with me, but I have almost forgotten why. 😉 I love the Canon LCD screens.
And something more affordable than R50. (It costs a lot more than M50II in my market.)
Just over 30% more body only here, 25% more with the standard kit zoom.
Over 60% more here now (both kit and body only).
The R8 body is 60% more than the RP body here. It's only 6% cheaper than the R.
The R8 body is introduced for 2.5 times the price I can buy a new RP for. (Or 150% more). Ridiculous.
Not really. Canon have not been able to keep up with demand at the launch of any camera that they've released in the last 4 years.
I have not seen anything like that here since R6/R5 was released. No problem with availability of M50 mark II or R7 (or R10) and R6 Mark II has been available in stores since (at least) mid of December. And all these are more reasonable priced (although still too high).
Price is the most profitable way of rationing their cameras until production capacity and demand equalise. (I didn't say this is equitable or right or good, just profitable.)
Hmmm. The price can also be set too high and then profitability walks out the door. And it does not explain why the R50/R8 is so much cheaper in US.
