I wonder how many folks commenting here have actually used the latest Sony real time auto focus for focus and recompose on virtually anything with little to no need of settings changes. I can only speak of comparison between my R5 and the Sony A7C. The Sony is many times more reliable on objects, while still handling face/eye - all with same settings.

I shoot Canon because I do not like Sony colors. Been shooting Canon since the first EOS auto focus in the 80s.

Disappointing to hear a cheap R10 has better focusing capability in some respect than my R5 and no likely firmware update, but that’s life in the digital camera business

Does it really matter if someone has or has not used the other brands if they are still getting all the shots that they want to get?

For me my Cameras are simply tools. I learn how to get the best out of my tools. If my tools are not providing something I really need I buy a new tool.

Canon has not let me down so far.

Cheers
