I have a full frame 35-85mm, so

It's quite a useful APS-C range too. Yet another dual format RF lens.

Maybe not with that lens speed.

It's exactly the same speed as the RF-S 18-45mm, but more usable on my EOS R.

It’s less of a compromise towards the wide end, which that lens has more of. Still ridiculous though f6.3 at 45mm, is like f10 equivalent

It would also be an intriguing choice to have a full frame lens as a kit for an apsc body.

The 16mm is an easier lens to use on APS-C than on FF.  I love UWA, and that 16mm on particular, but you can get some very boring pictures with it if you don't get far too close for comfort. I've never been tempted to use my 12-24mm as a 20-40mm f/7.1-9 FFE zoom because it's just too big for my EOS M, but this lens' raison d'être is its size and the R7 and R10 aren't tiny cameras.
