I realize that this concept is not very common in the Canon world. It's not about tracking actively moving objects, it's about a simple, fast and reliable method of AF field selection. When it works well, it's easier and faster than selecting the AF area by joystick or touchscreen. The videos linked by Laqup and AtmaWarna demonstrate this quite well.

The concept you describe is perfectly well understood “in the Canon world”, yet you don’t seem willing to accept this. It’s how a mirrorless camera works.

You realize that I answered to the post from Leigh A. Wax? See below what he wrote.
Where does this aggressiveness come from? It's probably because of my gear list

"The term "Tracking" in current MILCH Cameras is the AF capability of "locking on to , and "following" / tracking a moving object.

What moving objects are there to track in a Landscape scenario?"

No aggression from me, I always try to help, but saying things like “I realise this concept is not very common in the Canon world” is perhaps disrespectful, if you just pause to think about it.
