I got it on one of 500 images -

the line goes through all width of the image ( raw )
here is a crop - it is roughly 4 pixels high
is it card error or camera error ?

( i can see the line while reviewing on camera screen so it is not card reader )

It's a card error as long as you don't have the line in the same position in other images.

save all the images from the card and do a full format (not quick) on your PC (not in camera).

It’s an interesting question, but why would a card error cause the same line to be visible in the same place on both the RAW image and in the embedded, smaller, jpeg image? That implies a camera error, written to both images at the same time.

Depends on how in-camera previews are actually displayed.

Given the OP has only had one such image, it would be hard to be sure where the fault lies until (or if) it recurs.

Corrupted RAM in raw data (before it was written to the card) would likely result in a few corrupted pixels, not the whole row.

It could be a sensor glitch but I understand it never repeated. If this happens again, it can be a problem in the sensor.

To make sure, the OP could try and extract the actual embedded jpeg from the raw file. If both raw and jpeg are corrupted, then I was wrong and it was an in-camera glitch.

My understanding is that the review image on the LCD/EVF is the embedded jpeg.  To support this contention, the review always includes the in-camera corrections that are active, and these are only applied to jpeg, not RAW.  This leads me to the conclusion it is a camera (sensor, processor, or somewhere in the image pipeline) glitch.

A simple way of viewing the embedded jpeg is to use FastStone viewer, which opens the embedded jpeg for preview on screen.

Hopefully for the OP it won’t recur.
