It is not a big crop having 8K from 61Mp. Extra Mp are also needed for 8K and 4K mode EIS.

Really? 8K video is 32MP, so out goes 50% of the pixels.

Aspect ratio differences require extra MPs, and there is always oversampling.

Only interesting thing about this to me is that it might bring down R5 prices. An R5 for less than $3K new is interesting.
