Yeah. Wishful thinking I know, but I keep hoping for a last ditch M7 to go out with a bang. Not much bigger than the M6II with a built in EVF, IBIS, and Digic X with all the AF goodness that comes with. Throw in an EF-M 100-300 f/5.6-8 and M users would gobble that stuff up for a spell. Dead mount or not.

But that’s not to be I guess.

I'm right there with you, on the M7 / M5ii front at least.  I snagged the screaming deal on a M6ii refurb at the start of November, but the more I use it the more I miss having an EVF.  I know I can buy the detachable one, but still....  Unfortunately getting an M camera with those specs will only ever be a dream.

For lenses, we won't see any new M ones from Canon.  If they ever released an APS-C lens like that, it would be an "appropriately" slow RF-S one, think f/8-11.  Sounds like they even slowed down the RF-S version of the EF-M 55-200mm.  When I had it, the f/6.3 was such a pain.... so of course they went even slower in RF-S.  As far as I'm concerned, they can keep it.
