Can Canon AF do real time tracking of objects (not just faces,eyes,cars,animals etc)?

Yes, there is absolutely no issue with the R7. As I stated, on the R, it depends on the subject, background, speed of movement of the camera, etc. The R7 just sticks like glue. But you have to engage the correct settings (obviously).

This forum never ceases to amaze me. There is always the same crowd that never has any flaws with their R cameras.

In reality it is quite different of course, you can even see it in official reviews that tend to typically be quite positive about a new product. Just take a look at the review of the Canon EOS R6 II from DPReview TV:

They mention that you constantly have to babysit the camera when in tracking mode (of non-detectable subjects) and even showcase the behavior right after that (7 minute mark). But of course, if you show someething like this to the usual brand defenders in here, they will tell you that it those people did not know how to properly setup their cameras, they were using wrong settings and for sure had a defective model. And of course this was in video mode and in stills the camera behaves perfect.

Doesn't look like the EOS R6 II (or R7 or R10) has any mind boggling improvements in this regard. q.e.d.

If you want to prove them wrong, just take your smartphone and film the back of your screen while performing the discussed technique. I am sure you will come up with a cherry picked result.

Another fun fact is, that the usual crowd typically does not have any prolonged experience with other brands of the same generation.
