Don't exactly know what you're point is, but it does bring up one thing. In my post above, a wrongly stated digital zoom forgetting about Panasonic's offerings. It was actually i.zoom and using the 10mp setting. And no claim to be the best the ZS100 can do. It's more like that it's probably the worst that the ZS100 can do.

Almost anything can take a good photo in bright sunlight using only optical zoom. But add 10mp crop, i.zoom and additional crop makes it tough for anything.

Well the point was about the IQ hit once we go beyond Optical Zoom which you are already fully aware of. That was something I usually won't go for. For the reasons I noted. It's hard enough as it is to go a decent shot just with Optical.

Nor was I trying to make this any contest if that was your interpretation. I agree that in bright sunlight, It's far easier to get better shots. But how often does the Wildlife come out only when the lighting is great? I find myself shooting far more in cloudy conditions as opposed to anything else.

You were talking about pushing the limits and I just shared my thoughts on how I use similar sensor size cameras. I usually push the limits by shooting something that is normally shot with a 400mm equivalence with less than 100mm equivalence. I feel that helps improve my manual focusing skills.
