Check this thread: Is sharpness in photography becoming a problem?

M6 II is an excellent camera.

There are very few situations where I cannot take a good picture with my M50.

There are better cameras, larger, more expensive, heavier. But M cameras are good enough.

Indeed.

A well known Belgian photographer once said "the worse thing people can say about my photographs is that they are sharp".

But for birds IMO it is still a requirement in most cases.

M cameras are (were) more than sufficient for almost all photographic tasks, but sadly enough Canon saw more benefit elsewhere.

They just used M as a mirrorless lab, without risking their core business. And when they finally found out how to do it right with the R5/R6 - or found the moment was there - they appeared as the winners.
