What I'm most confused about is that Canon continues to sell the M50 Mark II and M200 in retail stores. At my local Best Buy they have the R10 with the M50ii side by side. Though at the Target I went to recently it has the M50ii, M200, and a T7 DSLR which is even weirder. Maybe their turnaround is really slow and Canon has no say in the matter.

Yeah, they probably have some stock left.

So at this point they are selling people a dead end which doesn't seem good for either side. Do the vast majority of entry level users really never buy any extra lenses? I don't know.

With how widely available the M50 series has been I don't see how Canon doesn't eventually get angry customers finding out they can't find a new lens for their camera, even online. Maybe the idea is that these people will buy another kit in RF.

Don't forget that the M System is still hugely capable (in taking actual pictures).  So the entry level (one lens) crowd will be pleased.  And also the more advanced photographers who can make use of the "large" lens lineup that's already available (every single EF-M lens is available used).
