Thanks for this research and findings...

If this is true, it seems like Canon is not using high FPS shooting as a way to differentiate their lineup (there are high FPS cameras (R10,R5) and even higher FPS ones (R7,R3,R6II))

It may be the case that if you bought a current gen RF mount camera you'd get something that shoots 20-40fps in e-shutter mode no matter what

I guess the new form factor is perhaps a nod in the direction of going rangefinder style?
