Perhaps I wasn't being as "clear" as I should have been. The question was whether or not the people on the ends would be blurry. To me that is an issue that can be clearly dealt with what you suggested by stopping down (and I think I said in a previous post.) The potential bigger issue I was bringing up is the possibility of distortion... something the OP didn't ask.
