It's not an affront to call a camera manufacturer who actively blocks third party lenses and doesn't create enticing options to photographers lazy. Sounds more like you're an apologist who thinks Canon can do no wrong.

It's not lazy to actively defend your patents. Canon don't actively block all third party lenses but do have a fifty+ year-old pattern of not encouraging them and not bothering to make sure their new cameras work with old third party lenses. The RF-S lenses may not be as exciting as the EF-M ones but it's very lazy to say that Canon have no enticing options for photographers.

Of course Canon can do wrong. I'm still upset about the New FD lenses with that awkward release button that were unable to lock down the stop down lever and had those silly lens caps that would only go on one way round. And the silly lens caps for the RF lenses. I'm upset that they haven't brought out a 32Mpx M mount successor to the M100. But I'd rather live in hope than in despair.

People that want a fast zoom can still adapt the great EF-S 18-55mm STM !
