Own an R, 6D and M5 bodies, but pining for an M6II as the dedicated body for the M32/1.4 lens. Talk my out of buying one.
Sony 50mm f/2.5 G or Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 S
hmm, but now we're into FF bodies, more weight, and more costs
More costs, but A7C + f/2.5G is pretty manageable when it comes to weight, and the FE 28-60mm will blow the ef-m 15-45mm out of the water, so you don't need an extra camera (RP+24-105L for instance) for your zooming needs.
But to your point, yes, it's a different price class. M wins for price, definitely.
Sony's odd eco quirks ruins it for me though
I'm wondering what the A7CII would bring to the table. All it needs is a front dial for the 28-60mm. The 50mm f/2.5 G has an aperture ring, just like the f/1.2 GM.
right concept, but not ready for my prime time
I get that. And for the 50mm (equivalence) the M6II + 32mm are competitive, not only for price, but also for performance. The M6II has the 32Mp, but the A7C might win for low light performance. And as soon as where talking IQ of zooms the A7C wins as well.
I hear they will update the A6600 this year.
I also hear X-S20 will be launched in April
I would like to see A7CII
And I'd like to see RPII
you are right on zooms on FF ruling
It will be hard to beat my RF 24-105 F4 L with nano and control ring
I would like to see a snappier, smaller RPII body
This is your lucky day, latest rumor is that the R8 is about to be announced (Feb 8th).
R50 is also coming, along with a 55-210mm kit lens
