Detaching the tripod foot of a Fotodiox Pro adapter

I'd like to remove the tripod feet of my Fotodiox adapters, but only non-destructively. The screws look like normal Phillips heads but are in rather deep holes, so the good-quality bits I have don't work. The only thin enough screwdriver I have that is able to reach the screws is rather bad quality and not able to move them.

Apart from buying a better screwdriver that will fit, any tips on how to loosen the screws? I assume they've used Loctite or something like that. Might dipping the adapter into boiling water help? Anything else?
