Unless you need to view or print at unusually larger sizes you might not ever see any significant differences between the two cameras discussed.

I downsized from a Fuji XT30 to my current Lumix GX85 (m4/3rds sensor) and honestly , I immediately realized the 26mp Fuji was simply overkill for my needs. My point is ,judging by all the images posted by you and others here I`d have to conclude that the ZS100 just might satisfy your needs and requirements after all, and the savings would be quite substantial even after considering whatever gain the Sony would give you.

Viewing full pixel size is great for critical comparisons and useful in ways but it`s most often just overkill .
