I remember getting a crystal making kit for one of the kids, but i dont remember such delights emerging from that, perhaps I never thought to look so closely.

Epsomite was found as crusts produced by thermal springs in Epsom, Surrey, England, which is the locality it is named after.

Also known as epsomite, Epsom salt gets its name from the English town of Epsom, where it was discovered bubbling from an underground spring by cowherd Henry Wicker in the early 1600s.

The natural mineral epsomite was first extracted in 1695, from the mineral waters near Epsom (London), where the mineral name was derived from.
