Had the 5d4. Went to the R with a top lcd. Never used it on the R. All that info is in the viewfinder.

now I’m using R6ii. Don’t miss the top lcd at all.

As I shoot a lot of fast-paced action, I like glancing at the R5’s top LCD as I’m bringing the camera up to my eye. That way I don’t have to pause to check settings once I have the camera in shooting position. Instead I can get off snap shots much more quickly this way (important in my line of work).

I have the R6ii also, and do miss that function (and the R5’s electronic shooting mode “button” as well), but can live without them of course. I liken it to having a Head Up display in the car. Really nice to have, but not necessary in order to drive the car!

Remarkable.

Almost no one ever says what was originally correct, "Head Up Display" (not "heads up").

Ha! Thanks. I'll give you a "Heads Up" if I notice any other idiomatic discrepancies!

Perhaps you never "hone in" on anything either. (It's "home in".)

"Starting from ground zero" makes more sense in a way, even if it was originally "starting from square one".

The main purpose of adding this is to speed the thread towards its automatic end.
