You aren't alone with your opinion. I've had my X100V for around one and a half year, the build quality was ok, but nothing more. Considering the price point, I was actually sort of underwhelmed by the build quality when the camera arrived, compared to my Olympus cameras it just didn't feel as good. That was especially obvious for me once I received an X-Pro3 - the first thing I noticed after taking it out of the box was the much better build quality compared the X100, not only related to the increased heft and bulk, but rather the overall feel of the camera, the buttons, the dials - essentially everything.

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinions but whenever I read comments that the X100V is not well built I think I must live in a parallel universe.

Every time I pick mine up I’m completely happy with its reassuringly solid feel, and the way it works. I’ve not handled the X-Pro, tho’ I see it as a different kind of offering, nor the highly prized, and priced, Leica. Of the compact cameras I have owned, 3 film and 3 digital, the X100V exceeds all in overall build quality and feel, and is ‘chunky’ enough for me as carry everywhere camera.

I am obviously not claiming it to be the absolute best out there, but am surprised if some consider it less than satisfactory. To each their own. I won’t be selling mine even for silly money.
