I The x100v is close to perfection - the build is very premium.

This is one thing where I seem to be out of step with everyone else.

I felt the build quality wasn’t anything to write home about. There were several areas where all—and I mean all, which is well over 20—the other X cameras I’ve used have had a rather more solid feel; namely the on/off switch, the viewfinder switch, the button inside the viewfinder switch, and the focus ring. I also found the shutter button was too light: often I’d half-press to focus and end up firing the shutter accidentally. Again, not something that’s been an issue with any other X bodies, which have a nice firm feel to the second stage of the shutter button.

I never owned another Fuji, but compared to a Sony A6400 or a Ricoh GRIII (love it nonetheless), the build quality of the X100V is far superior. Just compare the battery departments. Overall it doesn’t feel or look cheap in any way. Anything works fine after 20 months of heavy use. The only shortcoming I and many others have recognised regarding build quality is the rubber in front of the OVF/EVF that partly peels off.
