I'm still getting used to the lack of top LCD. Previously I would very commonly review my exposure settings and perhaps fiddle with them if I anticipated it for the next shot. On my 5D that meant a quick half shutter press (if the camera was asleep) and some knob dialing.

So far I rarely use the back LCD on my R6II so I'll find myself waking the camera up (which is quick, but still takes about a second) and peering at the EVF with the camera at waist level. But I don't think the process would go any faster using the back screen. So more often I'll just get my settings dialed in when I'm ready to take the shot, which adds a little time. I do wish there was a faster way to keep an eye on key settings.

I suggest that you try using the back screen. You can do so many things from the back screen, change numerous settings so easily. Not sure how much you can see using the EVF with the camera at waist level. If you give the back screen a try you may be pleasantly surprised.

I usually use my camera with the backscreen flipped around so it doesn't display anything. The battery lasts longer that way. I can see the details when looking through the VF, but it would often be more convenient to see it on the top LCD.
