cRAW vs RAW on R5
3

Just for grins, I took the exact same image (of my granddaughter's Fire Pad box) in both RAW and cRAW (compressed RAW). The file size of the cRAW was almost half the size of the full RAW image. However, even zoomed in to 400x on the focus point (the "16GB" text at the bottom-right), I could not see any perceptible difference in IQ.

I suspect that the full RAW would have more dynamic range and allow you to pull out shadows or recover highlights better, though I didn't test that.

What are your thoughts on using RAW vs cRAW? Is RAW always necessary?
