very nice,
Thanks!
tripod and flash?
Tripod yes, but no flash but a Godox 170 LED light.
how long did the whole process take? i.e. setup, taking the shots and the stacking in silico?
For the setup it's hard to say. I placed the secateurs on a router lift, put camera and the Godox LED light on tripods, looked for the right position/angle of the light (that's the most time consuming aspect IMO) and an additional hand held diffusor and then made the first stack. Took about quarter of an hour, I'd estimate.
As far as stacking is concerned I can be more precise, because I still have the source pics of the two stacks I posted here. So I looked at the EXIF data.
With stack #1 the first shot of 49 was taken at 20:01:02, the last one at 20:01:04 - so it took two to three seconds to take all 49. The pictures were taken at 1/30s each, so that fits the overall time. The stacked TIF - exported from Zerene after stacking - was created at 20:07:07. The processing in Zerene took about 2 and a half minute (just ran the stack again to check), so the rest of the time is handling the card, copying the files, importing them into Zerene etc. pp.
For Stack #2 I modified the setup and lighting (maybe another 5 to 10 minutes), took 100 pictures (but only used 70 of those); this took 18 seconds. The time difference explains itself because here the exposure time was 1/6s per picture.
After the stacked TIFs were created some further PP in Photoshop was done, don't know how much exactly.
That was probably more info than you wanted, but it was interesting to check, I have to say.
