I see the RF 135mm f1.8 L as big upgrade on the EF 135mm f2 L, a very old design. I am, however, content to stick with my EF 35mm f1.4 L II, as that is a much more modern design. And Roger Cicala waxes lyrical about its build quality.

I have ordered the RF 135. I have eight RF lenses and 14 L lenses which I acquired over the years. Like you I have the EF35f1.4L II and the EF24f1.4L II and have no plans to ever switching out them. I keep my 5DIV just in case and may keep many or all of the EF lenses. I know them well.

I have used a speedbooster some with the EF f2.8 trinity and the EF400L II on the R7 for f2 light gathering. The speed booster requires a EF lens and the improved low light sensitivity is useful along with the zooming when shooting near dawn and twilight hours.

Sometimes I have two shooters so the EF may get used occasionally for that and will serve for comparison and as backup. Occasionally I do side by side tests when thing seem like they might be off. I think RF135 may the last RF lens I need for a long time. I look forward to the stabilization, bokeh and CA free performance.
