Great time to be a bird photographer ?

Absolutely!

They will have that stuff working so smooth by the R7II all you will need to do is get a bird in the frame ?

Right on. Bird's Eye AF is getting better and better!

In fact, for most situations it's there already!

R2

Getting them in the frame at just the right time though ?

You are so good at that

Here are a few samples using the R7's Eye AF. Not intended to be artistic! I just wanted to test how well it picked up eyes in the clutter. Typically these would give standard AF fits (even Spot AF)...

The M6ii's Spot AF is certainly really really good for birding, but Eye AF technology clearly has benefits!

R2

WOW !

The R7 sure would be a right birding camera in Florida with all the good light !

Oh man, would I ever love to be down there right now. I’m so sick of this winter B.S.

It’s a barren wasteland up here right now!

But you can even be happier when the (sun)light comes back again

Indeed. I can hardly wait for spring again, and the life it brings back to the world!

Although we also have a grey and cloudy winter, I like the change of the seasons over the year. But to each his own

To tell the truth, I really enjoy the change of seasons, however enough is enough! If I had my 'druthers, I'd become a "snowbird" and spend the winter months in Fla.

And with the birds down there being so approachable, I could get away with taking my M6ii out with just the 55-250 (+/- TC) most of the time!

R2

Since I don't do BIF (and rarely take photos of birds), there is no need for me to migrate to Fla
But I also like spring very much, when nature is waking up again.
