You can also create HDR images in Adobe Camera RAW now (and other software) from any RAW file by using recently added tools in ACR and by saving them as AVIF files. This will work well with your 1600 nit display. It seems that HDR is moving away from HEIC and toward AVIF.

"Creating HDR images with Photoshop v23+ supports proper display and editing of HDR images in 32-bit RGB mode. To enable support in Photoshop, go to PS Prefs / Tech Previews / “Precise color management for HDR display” and restart Photoshop"
