Doubt the R6II/R10 will be less out of pocket as the OP already owns the RP.

In my original post my suggestion was to sell the RP to pay for the R10 (or most of it). He's already talking about buying the R6II outright.

Still...no.

Sure, whatever. It was just an offered suggestion. Thanks for setting me straight...

Perhaps you may offer some actual buying advice to the OP's question versus just criticizing what others have put on the table?

Thanks folks! Lots of good feedback, thoughts and ideas!

I think I've come to a decision:

I'm going to get the R6ii, possibly adding an R10 or R7 later in the future, when I sell more gear.

Seems very sensible. I'm confident the R6II will be a joy to use!!!

Rationale:

Since the majority of my shooting is landscapes, I should choose the camera that best fits that use case. Otherwise, I'd always be carrying around two bodies, two battery models (plus spares) and more lenses. Since most of my trips are in a canoe or with a backpack, not in a car, I do need to choose what I bring with me carefully (a constant struggle)!

While I'd love the extra reach, the reality is that the long lenses I have/or can afford are not the fastest, F8 or narrower. The R6ii will do better with such lenses than the R7.

Having started in digital with a crop camera, I was so pleased with the move to full frame when it happened (from 60D to 6D) that I know I'd always be lusting after the R6ii if I didn't get it. The R7 seems more like a "super nice to have" at this point, less of a "must have".

So there you have it! Again, thanks for taking the time to comment and share your thoughts and experience.

FWIW, I'd love an R5, but the cost in Canada, with tax is over $5600; that would mean no lenses for me for a long, long time!

Wow! Did not realize the Canada price was so high for the R5!

Ron.
