R7 shooting an aerial silks show in dimly lit gym

One of my colleagues does aerial silks as a hobby (see the pictures for an idea of what this is). Her school had a show on Saturday, so a bunch of us went to see it. I took my R7 with my most expensive lens (RF 70-200 F2.8) and my cheapest lens (RF 50 F1.8). The lighting was simply terrible. Just a few fluorescent strips in the ceiling (even though they had spotlights mounted, they weren't using them). I was hoping to use 1/1000, but had to settle for setting the minimum shutter speed to 1/500. Even then, I was often over 12,800, and at 25,600 for quite a few, when using the zoom. With the prime, I was shooting at F2, so not quite such high ISO, but still pretty high. I used the two lenses about equally (the zoom, even at 70, was too long for some of the closer performers). I shot e-shutter at 3fps for the slower routines, and EFCS at 8fps for the faster-moving ones. Luckily the lighting didn't produce banding, and I experienced no rolling shutter distortions. Both lenses performed almost flawlessly. The 50 did give me some CA when the performer was outlined against a very bright light, but software mostly took care of that. AF was plenty fast enough on both, and the camera just nailed the vast majority of shots. Here are a few samples, and a link to the gallery with lots more:

I love the RF 70-200 F2.8, but it's nice to see the 50 F1.8 perform so well too, for about 6% of the price!
