Re: Everyday Carry - X100 vs XE / XT x0 / XT x00

Just as an update to people who may be interested:
I'm currently weighing an XT5 with the 27mm 2.8 WR for the weather sealing and very small size, but will be highly dependent on whether or not Fuji can bring autofocus from the XH2S 3.0 to the XH2/XT5... I know I likely won't need that but I've been spoiled by the recent updates to AF.
Firmware will be updated for sure but XH2s has a stacked sensor so XT5/XH2 won't be as good at least in tracking.
If an XT40 comes out with IBIS (unlikely and WR) which are both unlikely given the previous models and segmentation, I'd go for that too.
If both are no go then I'll decide again but likely the M6 Mark II style camera in RF mount with the RF-S 22 will be my pick (with the unfortunate sacrifice of the weather sealing).
Question about the dials:
Looking from the top, the XT4/5 has an ISO dial on the left, a shutter speed dial in the middle and an exposure compensation dial to the right. I'm expected to change the aperture on the lens.
What do the front and rear dials do? Are these user programmable?
Yes that's correct. In that case, by default (I not 100% as I have it set up differently!) the front dial is for aperture if the lens has no aperture ring while the rear dial will further adjust the shutter speed in increments of 1/3 EV.
You can also set the ISO, Shutter & EC dials to "C" and then use the front & rear dials to control everything. Aperture can also be set up to the front/rear dials. These dials are clickable so you can control more than one thing if you like...you can set it up in so many ways.
I usually shoot in aperture priority so I usually have the ISO & Shutter dials on "A" and just control the aperture ring. I also put the EC dial to C and control it via the rear dial. Not only do I find this easier, it also let's you go from -5 to +5 instead of -3 to +3...not that you really need that!
I leave it on Auto ISO & there's 3 auto ISO modes. Each can have a different min - max ISO range & also different Min shutter speeds.
There's so much more to it...probably best to check out the manual!
