At the same upgrade decision point.

I plan to get full frame bodies. I will start with R6 Mark ii and wait for R5 Mark ii or iii, depends on how much money I can budget (or maximum amount before my wife screams at me).
I know some crop bodies are good, but I want to use RF lenses full potential. I started my DSLR with a 20D and moved to 5D mark iii. I don't want to move back.
Thanks for posting the question. I’m pretty much in the same place camera-wise. I was heavy into stills starting in 2004 dual 580ex flash and studio lighting as hobby, and for my tutorial web site. I upgraded to 50D in 2008 but starting in 2012 after getting my first iPad3 with HD video camera and ability to edit on the same platform I switched almost entirely video.
I’ve been wanting to make the switch back to Canon to up my video game utilizing my 10-22mm, 24-70 2.8 L and 70-200mm 2.8 L IS w. 2x extender but wanted to wait for a Canon to market a mid-range prosumer mirrorless body which would be “future proof” going forward.
I’ve started shooting of birds and other small animals have debated between the R7 + RF100-500mm or R6mkII + RF800mm f/11 and after watching many review videos have decided in the latter because it is better for video even though it will mean not using my beloved EF-S 10-22mm on the new camera.
I plan to get a Meinke RF - ES adapter with filter so I can continue using my old EF lenses for stills and video and will retain the 50D for shooting with flash and ultra wide angle with my EF-S 10-22mm
