55-200 has always been a starter lens. AFAIR the EFM version was a bit better than usual.
That said, good god RFS owners have the worst lens lineup imaginable. Hope your patience pays off. It didnt for EFS.

As opposed to EF-M and EF-S, RF-S is not a mount, only a designator for lenses with a reduced image circle. RF-S lenses mount and work on all R bodies, something you couldn't do with EF-S lenses.

So the 'RFS owners' you mention can use EF, EF-S, RF and RF-S lenses, which is hardly 'the worst lens lineup imaginable'.

Unless you mean that people who place self imposed artificial limits on their world like to complain about said limits, in which case: bless their hearts.

Unfortunately the terrible lack of RF-S lenses (zooms and primes) is not anything even close to being artificial. Together with a ban to 3rd party manufacturers it is a very sad picture of Canon's attitude to shooters interested in APS-C format lenses. Canon clearly wants photographers to go FF.
