Hi All,

Looking for an everyday carry camera to run alongside my Canon FF mirrorless kit for more casual situations where bringing out even the camera and the RF 35mm 1.8 would look a little odd. The photography I do is nowhere near artistic or visually compelling and nor do I try to be - it's all just snapshots and family/pet stuff

The obvious answer would be the X100 series, but was also looking at the versatility of running a kit (with one of the 23/27mm primes) with the eventual flexibility having a zoom (the Sigma 18-50 2.8 at 300 grams and a lightweight body would be the weight of the R6 alone and then some) looks very compelling since it is so small and light. The X100V is more compact with the prime, but the other cameras with the 18-50 seem to be nice to bring around as well.

This has had me looking at other options with the following form factors:

X100 Next Gen

XE4/XT200/XT30 Next Gen (whichever is the smallest and lightest with IBIS)

future Canon evf-less body with the rumored but most likely in the pipeline RF-S 22mm F2.0?

I do want to try Fuji so I'm partial to my first two options, but would like better autofocus to better closely match my Canon kit, which is why I'm waiting on successors to the current models, it appears the XH2/XT5 AF has largely improved even if it's not as fast as the XH2S.

If any, this will be a maximum, 2 lens kit (prime and the Sigma 18-50), where lenses + body combos approaching the size and weight of my Canon are likely not to be considered as it will be redundant (ruling out the nice Fuji 2.8 and 2.8-4 zooms)

I have never used a Fuji camera outside the XS10 (which was unfortunately the only operational Fuji on display at the local camera store) and have no idea what it's like to operate a camera with traditional dials and Fuji's menu in the field. I therefore come to this forum to ask if there would be any difference between something with the form factors like the entry level XT/XE series with a decent prime lens on it vs something like say the X100V which is grossly overpriced at the moment, other spec sheet differences like the weather sealing and leaf shutter aside)

Sorry for the text blob. Trying to make my situation as clear as possible (?)

Thanks for reading! Hope to see your opinions here

For added info I suppose, my FF kit is an R6 with the 24-105 F4, 70-200 F4, 35mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.8

Hi!

For size and versatility I'd say X-E4. It has no ibis. But nor has X100V. How important that feature is? How important that size/weight factory is? How important the versatility is?

I have cameras with and without stabilisation. Telling the truth, I do not really notice difference. And I do make photographs also in dim conditions and without tripod.
