I bought this lens to use when I am out taking photos at local cemeteries. I document grave locations for people on a genealogy website I am a member of. They ask for pictures headstones of family members, so I go out and take them. Anyway... for this purpose I wanted as light and small as possible. I had been using an EF-S 18-55 but even it was a bit too large, with the adapter. So, I found a used RF-S 18-45 on KEH and got it the other day. For my specific purpose, it is perfect. It is tiny, weightless and takes sharp pictures of headstones. The cemeteries I roam around in are hilly, and have lots of tree roots, etc. Small as possible is preferred, at least for me, at 65 and bad knees. Just thought you might find it interesting what sort of results I get with it on my R7.
Size comparison with EF-S 18-55 (with adapter)
