I’ve been shooting with the EFM 22mm & 32mm lenses on my m200 lately. Super fun to use, with great results. Should I spring for the Sigma 56 1.4? The 22 & 32 are such great lenses… but I’m wondering if the 56 would complete the kit?

don't you have an R6?

I sprung for the RF 85 f2 IS on my RP to get the IS instead of no IS on the 56 -- and so I am able to drag the shutter on the RF 85 vs maintain higher ss on the 56

When it comes to compactness the Sigma 56mm is the best portrait lens option.

true on compactness, but no IS/IBIS can impact shots for me

And dragging the shutter is gambling.

in weddings in the old days, with an eye for selecting the proper moments io deploy dragging the shutter in low light -- subject standing or sitting, and using7 fps to get a keeper, and using ss 1/80 --the gamble was reduced and kept the iso/noise useable

Makes sense.

these days though with dxo PL, I am less likely to drag the shutter, but run >ss 125

I seem to remember you running your 56 when you had it at ss 1/250 to be safe

At lower shutter speeds there was something not working always well when pixel peeping, but I didn't do the effort to test if it's was AF (tracking!), or full mechanical shutter or something else. I simply sold it and used the 50mm f/1.4 Art in stead. That one gave me consistently sharp images, maybe because of the construction, or maybe the weight, maybe the AF, I don't know.

Saving time is more important than saving weight. I also like the 80ish mm full frame equivalent field of view a bit better than the 90ish mm full frame equivalent field of view.

As far as I know I'm the only one who had those problems with the 56mm, so I think it was probably just my copy of the 56mm.
