Scanning Slides/Negatives with Fuji 30mm f2.8 Macro
4

I bought the new Fuji 30mm macro and am so far very pleased with it scanning my lifetime of 35 mm slides and negatives. I haven't yet scanned 120-film, but I'm sure it will be fine. It would be helpful (but not necessary) if my X-T30 tethered to my iPad. But I'm able to line up the image in the camera's display. Here's my workflow.

I mount film strips or slides in a holder then dust with compressed air. I shoot in 16x9 format because that's the format I ultimate want and would prefer to not have to crop in post-processing. I shoot at f8 at 1/60 second and let the camera set the ISO. After I shoot a couple of dozen frames, I connect my camera to an iPad Pro and import into Apple's Photos App.

Photos on the iPad sync through iCloud to my desktop where I rotate (if necessary), invert and adjust in Pixelmator Pro. Edited files are saved in the Photos app and sync with all my devices via iCloud.

I'm a very happy camper, being able to retrieve what were previously lost memories.
