In my view, viewing at 100% id a pointless artless exercise. It's photographic top trumps - having the specs but not knowing how to use them properly.

In my view,

  • If consumer only view 40MP photo as same size as 26MP photo (didn't view at 100%), 40MP is waste for them. 26MP photo size smaller, easy storage and RAW post-processing.
  • If consumer used crop mode, it actually similar to view at 100%.
  • 40MP sensor useful for fixed lens camera's crop mode, if only consumer use crop mode feature.
