Sensor stays at 26mp, BUT goes stacked. Lower noise, faster processing, so biased towards quality at higher iso. Most that are using the x100v aren't pushing the envelope to where more megapixels will benefit them. Also reduces temps for video use.

Agreed, but a stacked sensor also means you could remove the mechanical shutter assembly and instead add IBIS without the fear of rolling shutter as well as making one of the best cameras for street photography completely silent. The trade off would probably be not getting the burst rate or video specs of the X-H2s but it would be foolish for Fuji to make the next X100 a fixed lens version of the X-H2s since it would eat into that products sales.

23mm f1.8 - combined with above, allows for greater use at a wider range of lighting conditions.

Didn't the X100V get a new lens over the older models? The only way I see yet another new lens design is if they're moving to a 40mp sensor which wouldn't be stacked.

flippy screen

At most it should be the one from the X-E4, but having the X-E4 I hardly ever use that feature.

better evf, slightly larger.

Probably happening anyway due to the rumored supply chain issues they're having with the current one used in the X-Pro3 and X100V.

Slightly move compact.

Use the same w235 battery as x-t5, longer usage, standardizing on it.

A larger battery, more advanced processor, and flippy screen will always take up more space, and out of all of those things I'd rather have the better processor for a stacked sensor over a larger battery, and especially over a flippy screen.
