after a 5 year detour with the Sony A6000, i've just switched back over to Canon/full frame again: EOS RP + 24-105 f/7.1 + RF 35 f/1.8 + RF 100-400. fits my budget and covers all bases for now. i've always been a 50mm shooter so this 35mm should be a fresh experience.

a few questions:

1) would you recommend a polarizer or filter for the 100-400? i will primarily be using that for surf shots, so salty air is a concern.

2) shoulder bag recommendation to fit this kit? i'm looking at the Crumpler Roady Sling 4500 thus far. ordering online so no chance to try in person.

3) any good monopod or travel tripod recommendations? compact + budget under $100 ideal...

thanks! excited for those Canon colors again.

Test a bag first, the ManFrotto BeFree travel tripod OR the Manfrotto mono with 3 legs is what I use for surfing.

I have all some of the gear you just got, 10mp in crop mode is useful too for longways offshore reefs.

RP is a great camera but not fast, it uses same battery as the R10 which would be a good acquisition after you get rid of that Sony stuff.
