How do you keep from dropping that stuff when dancing after stepping on a snake while chasing birds down by the river ?

Fortunately up here in Wis we don’t have to worry much about (dangerous) snakes!

I did slip running down a frosty leaf-covered riverbank once (trying to catch an osprey fishing) and almost slid right into the (32 degree F) swift water! Talk about shooting from water level!! Saved my camera though!

The Hillsborough river is where I see the most birds but it is easier to get good shots of birds with a cropped camera on a good sunny day at the beach. With no snakes ?

You guys are just so lucky. Up here it’s all frozen over solid. Nothing moving.

Beach birds will get close to you too because they are not so afraid of humans and like handouts.

The big ones will stroll right past you.

I’m definitely living in the wrong part of the country!

Enjoy every one of your opportunities my friends!

If it helps you for comfort, my area in Germany is also lacking good wildlife ops, not only in winter. For this reason I am now into street photography. May be this has to offer more ops than nature stuff?  🤷‍♂️
